Climate Changemakers

With a community of thousands of volunteers around the world, Climate Changemakers believes that individuals have more power than they realize to make an impact on the climate emergency, especially when they leverage community to pull others into the movement. The group asks individuals to use one hour of their week to take productive, habitual political action on climate change by showing up to an Hour of Action and advocating for policy or organizing for political candidates. No experience is needed; no preparation is necessary. Most members are new to political action. Climate Changemakers: • Is nonpartisan and utilizes a climate lens to support candidates who have the strongest climate policies that meet the scale and urgency of the crisis. • Works strategically so that time is spent productively by defining goals, following evidence-based best practices, and creating space for innovation and collaboration. • Fosters a sense of community among volunteers in order to hold each other accountable and celebrate wins. • Believes equity, diversity, and inclusion of all voices is of the utmost importance to a representative democracy. • Meets everyone where they are in their climate journey, no matter your experience or knowledge level.
