Plant Based Treaty

As a companion to the Paris Climate Agreement, The Plant Based Treaty (PBT) initiative is a grassroots campaign designed to put food systems at the forefront of combating the climate crisis. The PBT aims to halt the widespread degradation of critical ecosystems caused by animal agriculture and to promote a shift to healthier plant-based diets. Plant-based diets have a much lower carbon footprint than those heavy in meat and animal products. The PBT has resources for individuals, groups, businesses, cities, and organizers to change their lives and communities and pressure governments to negotiate an international Plant Based Treaty. Anyone around the world can join the Plant Based Treat community. Get started by checking out their website, endorsing the treaty, and following them on social media. There are regular welcome calls to learn more. They have lots of great resources to join up with others, start a local team if none currently exists, and take action online.
